Working as a CollegePoint advisor has truly changed me for the better. I’m proud of the work we’ve done as an organization to combat undermatching and advance equity in the college admissions process. I love working with my students and supporting them in their pursuit of higher education, especially when I work with such compassionate and driven students. Working with them one-on-one through every step of the process allows me to fill in whatever college knowledge students need and really meet them where they are.

The flexibility of CollegePoint is one of its greatest strengths because my advisees can turn to me on their own time and get the support they need the most, be it revising their admissions essays, evaluating financial aid packages, or choosing between public and private schools. These are life-changing decisions and it’s been an honor to be a part of my students’ journey.

Counseling students as a CollegePoint advisor has reaffirmed my love for counseling and prepared me to start my graduate degree this fall: Master of Social Work at UNC Chapel Hill. I’ll carry the time I’ve spent working with these incredible students in my continued pursuit for social justice and equity.
