ScholarMatch

ScholarMatch is a college access and success organization founded in 2010 in San Francisco. To serve 600 CollegePoint students in the class of 2019, our third year with the CollegePoint initiative, ScholarMatch has recruited and rigorously trained 300 volunteer college coaches. Many of our volunteers are professionals with expertise in college admissions, but they span a wide range of ages, career fields, and locations. This year’s cohort of coaches includes a former ScholarMatch student and current rising college freshman, a Distinguished University Professor of Physics, a faculty member in UCLA’s College Counseling Certificate Program, and alumni advisors from each of the other CollegePoint partner organizations. Our coaches’ small caseloads help them provide personalized, high-touch support to the two students they each serve.

Outside of CollegePoint, our services include a free drop-in college access center in San Francisco, innovative online tools, last-dollar scholarships, and college persistence counseling through graduation, all made possible by a network of volunteers and donors.
